Introduction to the blog

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when talking about cultural management? Maybe some of you haven’t even heard about this before, or don’t really know what it is about. Maybe you are studying to become a professional cultural manager or related, or perhaps you’re just curious about all these. Well, either way I’m happy to inform you’ve reached a nice place to learn and discover about culture in its wider scope.

The aim of CultInsight is to show you how culture is created and how it can be managed. We won’t be talking only about one topic. This digital space will provide you both basics and more advanced knowledge about everything in which culture is involved. Different sections will be created, which will consist of:

  • Current affairs related to the performing arts and music internationally.
  • Concert critics from the cultural manager’s point of view: what is nicely done and what is not. What we can improve as artists or promoters.
  • International cultural rights and policies.
  • Marketing and communication in performing arts and music.
  • Performing experiences and personal thoughts about the industry.

All the mentioned above is going to be related not just to the more classical world of the performing arts, but with the more modern and contemporary ones too, since culture is dynamic and diverse and needs to be understood as such. It is also intended to include interviews and collaborations with different professionals, such as promoters, dancers, actors,…

Last but not least, the word Culture has been mentioned quite a lot in this first post but, what do we understand for culture? As it has been said before, it is a dynamic and diverse concept, which can include lots of different manifestations and ways of understanding the human being and its relation with itself and its environment. Nevertheless, we won’t put up with any one which includes the slightest bit of violence. Culture makes us human.
